#1605 HOW GOD SPOKE TO ME TODAY
May 18, 2025 Just as there is no way I can believe, love, and hope in God enough, I also cannot praise Him enough. That is one of the purposes of my writing project. My perception of God is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, the three in One. Each plays a distinct role in my life yet They are perfectly united in direction and intent. God sends, Jesus bridges, Holy Spirit receives. I strive to pay attention and respond. It is a simple formula, but observing it play out in my everyday experience is the gateway to abundant living. So many missteps and stumbles, but not a doubt about being on the path. Lead on, Lord Jesus

#1606 HOW GOD SPOKE TO ME TODAY
October 3, 2025 I have only been listening to new stuff or instrumentals or Gregorian chants, and my mind has been remarkably free of ear worms. God wants me to be responsible for what passes through my mind, and that is the most difficult discipline I know. Purifying my thoughts works way better than repressing them if I am trying to clean up the river of my consciousness. An ear worm is like a snag or a backwater eddy. Keep me in the current, Lord

#1607 HOW GOD SPOKE TO ME TODAY
November 12, 2025 I missed an important anniversary for me. November 1 was my fourth anniversary of writing HGSTMT, almost 1600 posts. This is my philosophy of writing via Charles Bukowski: “The public creates its own gods and it often chooses badly because it reflects its own image. As I go on, I write as I please and as I must. I don’t worry about critics or style or fame or lack of fame. All I want is the next line as it truly comes to me.”
Thanks for the privilege, Lord Jesus

#1608 HOW GOD SPOKE TO ME TODAY
July 13, 2025 From The Heart of the Enlightened by Anthony de Mello:
It was lunchtime at the factory and a workman opened his lunch box dolefully. “Oh no,” he cried aloud. “Cheese sandwiches again.”
This happened a second and a third and a fourth day. Then a co-worker who had heard the mutterings of the man said, “If you hate cheese sandwiches so much, why don’t you get your wife to make some other type?”
“Because I’m not married. I make those sandwiches myself.”

October 20, 2025 Words of encouragement for tough political times: “When I despair I remember that all through history the ways of truth and love have always won. There have been tyrants and murderers and for a time they can seem invincible. But in the end they always fall. Think of it…always.” –Mahatma Gandhi

October 25, 2025 I know it is important that we play with our kids as they are growing up. This, I am not so sure about. We had a splendid celebration of Elliotte’s birthday at Dave & Buster’s tonight. Thanks, Lord
