#582 HOW GOD SPOKE TO ME TODAY
April, 2023 Results. When I was younger, they were the be-all and end-all for me. Does she like me back? Did I get the job? Will they publish my book? Now that I am older, I realize how skewed my perspective was. Faith is a far more accurate measure than results. Am I walking with God on this? Who is this for? Do I have His blessing? If I can answer those questions, I can leave the results to God–and God never goes wrong.

May, 2023. Conversing with Jesus–this is a habit i am actively trying to develop. I don’t mean prayer (although it really is prayer), I mean carrying it on through the rest of the day. For example:
Me: If he misses this putt, I have a good chance to win a skin, Lord.
Lord: Really? For a lousy skin? And he’s on your team…
Me: Yeah, you’re right. Thanks. (aloud) Nice putt!
I know this is fanciful, but it happens like that. His voice is in my heart, not in my ears.

February, 2023 God wants me to allow Him more freedom in my life–isn’t that a wonderful thing to say? Too often I keep Him under wraps. I am not being disobedient; I am just being inattentive. He cannot guide if I am not listening. Open my heart, Lord, so that You have the freedom to lead me wherever You will.

#588 HOW GOD SPOKE TO ME TODAY
February, 2023
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart
Don’t lean on your own understanding
In all your ways acknowledge Him
And He will make your paths straight.” Proverbs 3:5–6
Those are the most fallen-back-on verses of my lifetime. Whenever I was in a tight situation, or felt unsure about what I had done or what consequences I faced–those are the words that brought relief. Looking back at my scarred past from the vantage point of old age, what wonderful advice it is!
