Like the Bible says, fear of man is a snare. I have to answer to a higher calling than someone else’s assessment. The opinion that matters most to me is God’s. And He will reveal it to me — through my conscience, through the results of my actions, and through my communion with Him.

May 12, 2026 Fourteen old men on a sojourn into south Oklahoma. A trip that involved a few good shots and many bad ones, a little gambling, a desperate search for food, a gathering on a balcony with a great view, and a tremendous amount of laughter and goodwill. Thank You, Lord Jesus, for Your continuous blessing upon us.

April 20, 2026 Every now and then I get a flash of understanding — the love I have for my wife, for my children, for my family, for my friends, for my neighbor — is not even a molecule of the pure love (grace with no thought of return) that God is directing toward me right now. With all those people He is teaching me to love — I would be a fool not to listen.

I was one of those kids who sat in elementary school and stared out the window. My mind wandered freely. That was good for my creative side, but not so much for the academic. (I was booted out of the gifted/talented program after one year.)
It was good of God to hook me up with a practical woman.

Family Sunday, a joyous occasion…

February 7, 2026 Karen and I are in Austin for her friend’s daughter’s wedding. I sometimes forget how much fun it is traveling, just me and her. Throw in the fact that weddings are about the most joyous occasions we have on earth (the wedding at Cana is one of my favorite Jesus moves), and it makes for a pretty great weekend. Thanks, Lord Jesus
