January 13, 2026 My wife smiles at me when I tell her that crawling into bed is one of my favorite times of the entire day, especially in winter. I love how the feeling of warmth and peace and security envelops me. I review the events of the day and thank Him for it. And then I drift off… Ah, rest!

#1679 HOW GOD SPOKE TO ME TODAYDecember 26, 2025 When I don’t feel like doing something (i.e., my physical therapy exercises), it’s twice as hard to get myself to do it when I have other options, even if they’re not significant. However, I know that I will not get my active life back without enduring the pain that goes with rehab. God is good–He’ll give me little dead times in between various activities. And He will remind me I’m supposed to do them. Mostly I listen.

If I use any standard–your color or your beliefs or your taste in music–to deem you different (lesser?) than me, I have created an artificial barrier. Our differences are there to enjoy and explore, not to divide. There’s only one characteristic we all share–we have the same Maker.

Family Sunday, the nest refill…
#1681 HOW GOD SPOKE TO ME TODAYDecember 29, 2025 The only family member I might have less contact with during a family reunion is my wife. My focus is more on the adults and what activities we have planned and hers on the granddaughters and what they are doing. But what always unites us is how happy we are to have all of them around. I find it’s not the events but the moments that make a family reunion.
