#922 HOW GOD SPOKE TO ME TODAY
February, 2024 Ill health. It seems to be popping up all around me these days. There is no sickness without suffering. I see so much courage displayed in the face of illness. So how do I respond to all these people, family and friends, who are beset with Ill health? Of course I must pray for them, but God wants me to do more than that. He wants me to reach out, to think of a way, great or small, to make their days a little better, to be some kind of comfort to them. Sickness usually brings loneliness. Show me how to help, Lord Jesus.

March, 2024 On a golf getaway, fire is as elemental as friendship. When nineteen men are involved, multiple conversations take place simultaneously. I joined a fellow on the outer edge of the circle who complained, “Everyone wants to talk and no one wants to listen.” Ah, humanity.

#924 HOW GOD SPOKE TO ME TODAY
January, 2024 “The kingdom of heaven is at hand.” I spend a lot of time on that verse. I believe it has multiple meanings. Here are three of mine: 1) The time has come–the doorway to heaven is opening. 2) Jesus is the doorway to heaven–when we look at Jesus, we look at how we will be when we get there. 3) He means right now–the kingdom is right in front of us. As we realize that we are connected to Him at this very moment, we begin to see the world as He sees it, and we glimpse its beauty and goodness and perfection.
I suspect there is some truth in all three viewpoints, and they are all fun to think about.

April 3, 2024 Family Reunion Eve: I have all three children and spouses, all six granddaughters, my brother and three of my four sisters, their spouses, and one of my favorite nephews–all descending upon our environs for the next six days. Glory, glory.
The solar eclipse is the highlighting event, but Agnes’ 8th birthday and my 75th run a nice second and third. How gracious of my Lord to darken the sun in order to bring my family around me!

#928 HOW GOD SPOKE TO ME TODAY
February, 2024 How active can God be in the ‘worldly’ decisions I make, such as buying a car or choosing a TV series to watch, or planning a vacation? All of those things have future implications–I have committed my future to God. Therefore, dear Lord, I invite/implore/beseech You to guide/nudge/cajole me in the direction which serves O/our best interest. Do not allow me to screw it up, for I put my trust in You.
