#1647 HOW GOD SPOKE TO ME TODAY
March 10, 2025 Some of the most wondrous experiences of my life are when I know God is speaking to me, His mouth through my heart to my pen. Ah, were it always so! Alas, it is not. Quite often it is more like spiritual Blind Man’s Bluff–searching for wisdom in the dark, hearing on alert, hands extended for foreign objects, steps tentative, pen low on ink. I’ve only one curative exercise for these times–take my eyes off myself and turn them to God.

All I want for Christmas is You…

December 23, 2025 Stuff (and Santa Claus) are for kids. This is my prayer for us adults as Christmas approaches:

Merry Christmas from our family to yours…
#1650 HOW GOD SPOKE TO ME TODAY
Christmas, 2025. I lean toward the spiritual side–today God revealed how cool the gift-giving, present-opening, Santa Claus-stocking stuffing, brunch-eating aspect of the blessed day is! I know I don’t have to tell anyone this: Christmas with the family is the best. Sunglasses in photo are appropriate considering it was over 80 degrees in Dallas. Thank You, Lord, for giving us such cause for celebration

December 20, 2025 My readers may have noticed how often God speaks to me through others’ voices. I love that about Him. It can be a conversation or a book, a song or a cartoon. The Ultimate Artist is the muse for all other created art.

The key to happiness?
#1652 HOW GOD SPOKE TO ME TODAY
December 19, 2025 From Sister Joan: “The quality of life you make for yourself depends on the way you approach praise and gratitude. Life, after all, really is what you do with it. Life is not what God does with it on your behalf. On the contrary. Defining God as the stage manager of life is one of the great mistakes you can make. Worse, it is a seriously incorrect definition of God. Realizing that God the Creator trusts you to turn life into the happiness God means it to be is the essence of the truly spiritual life.” –The Monastic Heart

#1653 HOW GOD SPOKE TO ME TODAY
December 27, 2025 The whole family didn’t get in until today so we got to go through the present-opening ritual for the second time–even more fun since there were even more of us. Everyone saved the best seat in the house for me. I know the term ‘patriarch’ is controversial in our current cultural climate, but the defined role (i.e., head of family) sure does come with some perks.
