Monday, Monday, it’s Marching Order Monday…
#428 HOW GOD SPOKE TO ME TODAY
Tuesday, October 10, 2022 I love this one: *Cultivate a sense of awe and wonder. The human tendency is to close down, not to open up. I see this in two common expressions, one internally directed and the other externally. “That’s just the way that I am.” “It is what it is.” Awe and wonder are always open and ready to receive.

Golf Tuesday…
#429 HOW GOD SPOKE TO ME TODAY
Tuesday, December 5, 2022 I shot a wonderful round of golf today. If you give a golfer an opening, he’ll tell you about every shot in a round. Don’t worry. I’ll just record my post-round revelation: Golf, like life, is supposed to be a spiritual exercise.

#430 HOW GOD SPOKE TO ME TODAY
Saturday, December 16, 2022 “There is neither Jew nor Greek, There is neither slave nor free man, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.” (Galatians 3:28) Those are pretty wide gulfs Paul is describing there. I believe if he were writing today he might add “…neither black nor white, neither rich nor poor, neither hetero nor gay…” The key words come at the end: “…you are all one in Christ Jesus.”

#431 HOW GOD SPOKE TO ME TODAY
Friday, November 10, 2022 “Time is money.” That is a horrible statement. It implies that the best thing I can do with my time is to use it to generate income. But maybe I am looking at it wrong. Maybe time is MY money, my currency, the most valuable commodity I have to spend on the remainder of my journey. Minutes and seconds are my dollars and cents. Wow. I had better start being more judicious in how I am spending my time. Teach me to number my days, Lord Jesus, that I may gain a heart of wisdom.

#432 HOW GOD SPOKE TO ME TODAY
Saturday, October 7, 2022 Another truth God is impressing upon me: The journey is everything. My brother did some independent traveling on the West Coast recently, and I told him he was on a spiritual journey…which he took with a grain of salt. Now he’s off to visit his son on the East Coast and then an old friend from high school he hasn’t seen in years. That is a spiritual journey. A spiritual journey is even more fun when you know you are on it. I would give up everything I have to remain on my spiritual journey…eventually I will. The most glorious thing about the spiritual journey is knowing where it ends…

#433 HOW GOD SPOKE TO ME TODAY
Thursday, October 19, 2022 God has already given me a mentor, a retired pastor from church. Now He has given me a spiritual comrade–an old friend who enjoys discussing spiritual things (church doctrine, personal revelation, what the Bible means, etc.) as much as I do. We disagree about some things, but we respect each other’s opinion. God uses him to balance my sometimes radical interpretations. Another example demonstrating that God will provide me what I need along my journey.

#434 HOW GOD SPOKE TO ME TODAY
Friday, June 9, 2022
Buddha’s final words: Strive unceasingly.
Jesus’s final words: It is finished.
I get it! This is not competitive or comparative. I love Buddha. There is a progression in humanity’s spiritual journey. Jesus is the fulfillment of Buddha’s quest. As the Bible put it: “Cease striving and know that I am God.” (Psalm 46:10)
