“Just do it.”#1634 HOW GOD SPOKE TO ME TODAY
June 11, 2026 That has so many more applications than exercise. I stand on so many borders with this one: * calling someone who I suspect could use a phone call; * buying something instead of worrying about if I could get it cheaper; * writing my blog when I have the inspiration rather than trying to remember for later; * committing to something that I know is a good idea.
Reminder to self: The Holy Spirit is active not passive. If I’m standing on a border, the answer is usually “Just do it.”

Can I get an Amen on Golf Tuesday?#1635 HOW GOD SPOKE TO ME TODAY
June 30, 2026 My new favorite hat (maybe all-time favorite) given to me by my dear sister Miriam on the first day of our San Francisco family reunion. Thank you Miriam and Lord Jesus. Amen

“You’re looking at the world through rose-colored glasses.”
#1636 HOW GOD SPOKE TO ME TODAY
June 14, 2026 That’s something my mother used to say to anyone who expressed an optimistic viewpoint, as I recall. I have been accused of it in various forms numerous times (lemonade from lemons — glass half full — wishful thinking — and my fave, from Dylan — if you cannot bring good news then don’t bring any). Truthfully, I make a conscious effort at it…being positive instead of negative. How can I not be positive when the Lord of the universe loves me?

“…rose-colored glasses” pt. II#1637 HOW GOD SPOKE TO ME TODAY
June 15, 2026 Of course, God consistently reminds me that there’s a light side and a dark side to this world we live in. I won’t even mention human behavior. Nature itself reflects the dichotomy — from the largest scale (hurricanes, floods, volcanoes) to the smallest scale… animals obeying instincts. My friend Dan took the photo of the bobcat, and Spice left the “gift” on my back porch. I do look forward to that time when the lion lies down with the lamb.

July 2, 2026 “Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are the children born in one’s youth. Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them.” (Psalm 127:4–5)
I have three very blessed men at this family reunion.

O Lord my God, when I in awesome wonder…#1639 HOW I SPOKE TO GOD TODAY (from Muir Woods)
July 3, 2026 Oh heavenly Father, let Your light shine down upon us as we enjoy the beauty of Your creation amidst 2,000 year old trees. I especially ask that You bless these young people, just little shoots right now, and lead them into abundant lives full of love and joy and peace.

Family Sunday at the Reunion at Miriam’s…#1640 HOW GOD SPOKE TO ME TODAY
July 5, 2026 As our time winds down, my thankfulness meter goes up. For: 1) Six girls who love each other and have so much fun being together; 2) Five parents who are so dedicated to the well-being of each of the six kids; 3) Four days in which we could all be together; 4) the Three-in-One — Father, Son and Holy Spirit, who watch over us and keep us safe; 5) Two grandparents who realize how absolutely blessed they are; and 6) One older sister who remains the most gracious and accommodating host I have ever known.
