July 24, 2026 As a child it was, no doubt, me. I was blessed in that I just wanted to absorb the world, and it tasted delicious. I started learning to love back. In my childhood I began recognizing my own self-centeredness and seeking a wider perspective — books helped alot with that. Then came my rebirth and I recognized Who was supposed to be on that throne. After that was marriage, career, family — and the throne disappeared. Oh, I knew the Lord was still there, but more as a Consultant than Lord. Finally, retirement — and I knew for sure that God was the first relationship I wanted to prioritize (Karen being the second, of course). Now Jesus is definitely sitting on that throne, and I am getting better at bowing before it.

August 17, 2026 God continually reminds me that travel is good for my soul. I love to see the diversity of His creation, that His beauty is apparent everywhere, that sunrises and sunsets are gifts for everyone, and that He takes pleasure in our enjoyment of His artistry. Most importantly, travel enables me to recognize that love — such as the love two cousins have for each other — is His greatest gift of all.

August 4, 2026 I think this is excellent advice, especially if I apply it to spiritual things. I need to pray more…pray. I need to calm down…breathe and pray. I’m worried about my son…give him to the Lord. Beginnings are new each morning. Begin again. As long as I am beginning, I am moving forward.

The Apostle Paul tells us that we “…live and move and have our being…” in Him. The Holy Spirit moves across the entire planet . That means the Buddhist and the Hindu and the Muslim and the agnostic and the atheist have their being in Him too. And the Holy Spirit will use anyone to accomplish Their purposes.

Perhaps the mainstream church has tended to put the cart before the horse. I do not know about the chronology of the afterlife. I do believe that we all shall stand before the judgment seat of Christ. I do believe that every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. I know there will be incomprehensible amounts of mercy and forgiveness and grace. And I expect there will be some surprises.

July 23, 2026 God has no gender — it is as simple as that. Gender implies split — male and female — and the Triune God lives in perfect harmony and unity. Father and Son are metaphors — gifts so that we may better understand the nature of Their relationship. In honor of this revelation, this blog shall henceforth refer to the Holy Spirit as She. Take that, Southern Baptist Conference!

Sometimes a photo can almost transport me back to a place. Most of the people I know love to travel. I don’t love to travel, but I love to get there, especially when it means being with loved ones I don’t get to see as much as I’d like. Ah, what fun! Since “…every good and perfect gift is from above…” (James 1:17), it fills my heart with gratitude.
