July 4, 2026 My fourth of July post on Labor Day: Truthfully, my patriotism is a little bit harder to come by when our country is being led by oligarchs seeking only their own benefits and Christian nationalists pretending that God loves us more than others. But I do not lose heart. On the spiritual side, I recognize that God is completely trustworthy in everything, including my granddaughters’ future. I am charged with believing that He knows what is best for them even if I don’t understand it. I entrust them to Him. (I am also confident a change is going to come politically.)–photo?

Today’s post today on Golf Tuesday — hot hot hot!

September 4, 2026 We have had two + months in the 100 degree range. Although I have always preferred heat over cold, this is pushing it. Still, I can identify a few minor miracles along the way: *we usually have 8 to 16 old men to play golf Monday through Friday anyway; * if there’s a faint breeze I can still sit out on my porch in the evening; *can’t explain it but I sleep better in the summer; *it’s much easier to dress.
And one major miracle: “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever.” (Hebrews 13:8)

August 2, 2026 Jesus admits that He will say that to many so-called believers. How can I know that I am not one? Not empirically. Yet He Himself says “So you see Me and believe? Blessed are those who do not see me and yet believe.” I have not seen Him yet, but He has been drawing me nearer for 50 years and it gets better the closer I get. I’m not worried about Him not knowing me because W/we already know each other.

September 13, 2026 First we went out to dinner on Monday for a late celebration of Karen’s birthday. Then we got to spend the whole weekend with them while Zack and Kallie went to see Brandi Carlisle at the Red Rocks Amphitheater in Colorado. The Bible encourages “…making the most of every opportunity for the days are evil.” (Ephesians 5:16). Thank You, God, for making such wonderful opportunities. –photo?
