Whether it be a Spurs loss in the playoffs, a perceived slight from a friend, a mistake of my own making, or a troubling report from the world at large, there is an effective formula for moving on: acknowledge, pray, and let it go. This enables me to return to where the action is — in the present, right here and now.

That is how the Holy Spirit is directing me — I am to look for opportunities to shine. A light doesn’t shine on itself — it illuminates the room. If I look to improve any situation that God puts me in, I am bringing light. My friend Dan puts it a simpler way: “Don’t forget to make someone smile today.”
