March 3, 2026 My wife went to visit her sister so I took the opportunity to have a firepit soiree with the boys. There’s something about fire that strikes a deep chord in the hearts of men. The yarns flow forth, and by the time we get to the embers the warmth has been transferred into the relationships. Thanks, Lord

February 22, 2026 The only true way I can express my commitment to my Lord is through my actions — everybody talks. My appropriate response to Him is adoration and obedience — not by some set of rules but by seeking His way in every situation He puts me in. The very best thing about walking the walk is that we never have to walk alone.

Health care quandaries…

March 2, 2026 I have had more appointments for more ailments in the last six months than in the previous sixteen years. Given those circumstances, it has been easy to put my hope and my faith in my doctors. On the other hand, I have heard from my geriatric friends a plethora of stories of how their operations, procedures, and treatments have been utterly botched by the medical community. I need to remember that there is only one healer, who works through a wide variety of agents. I need to pay attention and follow his leading.

February 21, 2026. Watching my two sons play HORSE and Around the World, just as they did tons of times when they were boys (only I would be out there too back then). More good-natured but just as competitive — Zack won at HORSE and Nate won at Around the World. Perfect, Lord!
