#901 HOW GOD SPOKE TO ME TODAY
February, 2024 Process not results. God has impressed that concept into a marching order for me. I am instructed to act, and He takes care of the consequences. It is a partnership. My part is beautifully stated: “…whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.” (Colossians 3:17) Then I get to see how He takes care of His part. What a way to live! Reminds me of the last line from Casablanca: “Louis, this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship.”

#902 HOW GOD SPOKE TO ME TODAY
FEBRUARY, 2024 I made a 75 foot putt today. From off the green, over the fringe and up the slope of the green, slowing and snaking to the left as it approached the flag, pausing at the edge of the cup before falling in. Magnificent. I don’t believe in luck and it certainly wasn’t skill–I call it a blessing.

#903 HOW GOD SPOKE TO ME TODAY
January, 2024 I came across this photo of me when I was five years old. One of my earliest memories is going out into the backyard on a beautiful summer morning, looking at the sky and the trees and the grass, and being filled with the joy of being alive. I believe that was the Holy Spirit communicating directly with me, though I knew nothing of the Holy Spirit at that time.

#904 HOW GOD SPOKE TO ME TODAY
January, 2024 Little things. God is showing me that it doesn’t take a grand gesture to please Him. Like everywhere else, God is in the details. He says to send the inquiring email, reach out with a text, make a direct invitation, check up on people, renew friendships, be aware of needs, pay attention, and always always always pray.

#905 HOW GOD SPOKE TO ME TODAY
January, 2024 “All shall be well and all shall be well and all manner of thing shall be well.” –Lady Julian of Norwich “No matter what.” –added by Madeleine L’Engle. That is it–the formula for navigating my way through trial and tribulation and heartache and sorrow and pain and loss. That is faith.

#906 HOW GOD SPOKE TO ME TODAY
February, 2024 Physical degeneration can be accompanied by spiritual regeneration. In fact, it needs to be–it is our only hope. Or, as my mentor Bob Dylan said, “…he not busy being born is busy dying.”

#907 HOW GOD SPOKE TO ME TODAY
March, 2024 Sometime events are so personal that I don’t even associate them with God. For example: I taught a filmmaking class in high school and both my son and his wife took the class–but at different times. So I have two films (Amigos and Twain) that they were in. Recently I had the absolute pleasure of watching both films with Karen and Zack and Kallie and Harlie, age 12, Elliotte, 10, and Mason, 7. Between all the flashbacks and all the emotional tugs and all the past/present resemblances (uncanny), it was like a family history bonanza. And You, O Lord, presided over all of that, from two kids in high school who hardly knew each other to a family of five making two grandparents happy and proud. How great Thou art.
