Inauguration Day, we shall see…
#1315 HOW GOD SPOKE TO ME TODAY
November 8, 2025 I promise to let go of the disappointing election results, but these verses impacted me this morning: “For there is no good tree which produces bad fruit, nor, on the other hand, a bad tree which produces good fruit. For each tree is known by its own fruit. For men do not gather figs from thorns, nor do they pick grapes from a briar bush. The good man out of the treasure of his heart brings forth what is good, and the evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth what is evil; for his mouth speaks from that which fills his heart.” (Luke 6:43–45)

January 18, 2025 We Texans love our golf–we had 19 men playing while there was still snow on the ground (temp around 42). And I suspect most of them felt just as blessed as I did (in the grey winter jacket) to be able to be out playing. Thanks, Lord.

December 9, 2024 Never be deceived into believing the church is the voice of God: “In his autobiography Mahatma Gandhi tells how in his student days in South Africa he became deeply interested in the Bible, especially the Sermon on the Mount.
He became convinced that Christianity was the answer to the caste system that had plagued India for centuries, and he seriously considered becoming a Christian.
One day he went to church to attend Mass and get instructions. He was stopped at the entrance and told that if he desired to attend Mass he was welcome to do so in a church reserved for blacks.
He left and never returned.” — Taking Flight by A. DeMello

November 10, 2024 “Between saying and doing many a pair of shoes is worn out.” –Italian proverb The Holy Spirit tells me that if I pray for needs I see without reacting to them, then it is just lip service to God.

December 11, 2024 A solution to today’s troubles: “Until women and men come to discover the truth of God’s presence in their lives, and discover it not merely as some statement they affirm or deny but as a living reality, they will never recognize the fulfillment of the ‘not yet’, the fulfillment of God’s total gift.”
–Ernest Boyer Jr.

#1321 HOW GOD SPOKE TO ME TODAY
December 23, 2024 I asked my granddaughter what happened to her nose. “Life happened,” she said and walked away. Ah, the wisdom of the young. (I learned later that her sister did it.)
