November 3, 2024 Next April I will have been a Christian for 50 years. I was introduced to Jesus Christ when I was 26 years old–it was a turning point in my life, as it is meant to be. I have never been as attentive to the relationship as I want to be, but He has. I hardly wonder what my life would have been like without Christ–I was not very good at living for myself. Now I know I am drawing nearer to Him. There’s no place I’d rather go.

Golf Tuesday, and a good day it was…

December 19, 2024 I played one of my best rounds of golf today–six birdies! I believe it happens in all kinds of sports–there’s this place where your mind and body and spirit are synced in together and you brim with confidence. For me that feeling is short-lived and elusive, but it’s wonderful when it’s there. I suppose it’s the slightest taste of the perfection that God bathes in.

December 5, 2024 I have a friend who has been pushed to the brink of what he can handle. That is a scary thing. But he went only to the brink. He realized that with help he could handle it, and that it would become a growth experience, and as he went through it he was never alone. What a wonderful Savior we have!

December 23, 2024 Happily watching the Spurs game as Karen and I babysat the five granddaughters while their parents went out to dinner…when Mason decided to re-direct my attention. After a 3 minute rant, properly assisted by Edith, the game was turned off and I was suitably focused. Hilarity ensued. Thank You, Lord, for magical moments. (Have you ever noticed that grandchildren are more fun when their parents aren’t around?)
