Whatever you are doing…

Is there a gene for creativity?  I have no idea.  I do have a collection of my father’s short stories, which he never published although I think they are quite good.  And I see a creative flair in all three of my children, but especially in my middle child, Nathan (Silace Amaro).  I’d like to introduce you to an artbook, Whatever You Are Doing Is the Most Beautiful Thing, which he and his artist girlfriend Annalisa Barelli have constructed.  Please visit his website and give it a look – wonderful, compelling images.  I’m a proud father!

  • I’ve never studies art but I know what I like and I like this book. I’m a typical woman. I like clothes, shoes and jewlery, but I also like things that are visually stimulating. Really how many shoes does one need or why stuff a closet with clothes I’ll never wear. (Like I’m really going to need a cocktail dress.) I only have so many fingers and if I wear more that one necklace I feel like Mr. T. The one thing I don’t have is a coffee table book. I’ve told people this if they ask me what I want to my birthday or Christmas but I haven’t gotten one yet and I tend to talk myself out of buy things I don’t need. Well this book looks great and it is goin on my Christmas list.

  • Actually there is some evidence of a biological basis for creativity. Creativity is closely linked to curiosity and exploratory behavior as well as the trait of sensation seeking and competence. It could be linked to a highly active right side prefrontal cortex along with the help of the left . They have found that when you split the hemispheres that creativity is completely absent. And as far as personality goes, openness to experience as opposed to neuroticism is connected to creativity. Those with more exploratory behaviors and are sensation seeking use their BAS(behavioral activation system) than the behavorial inhibition system which deals with avoiding punishment. There is even more than that But that is the gist of it. Haha.

    • Creative activation system initiated. Excellent! Thank you for the wonderful comments. Please don’t hesitate to buy a book. It is a beautiful, limited edition, collectors item, definitely worth the $20. WHATEVER YOU ARE DOING IS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL THING
