March 20, 2026 I have heard different versions of it all my life: Today is the first day of the rest of your life — Be here now — Carpe diem — the kingdom of heaven is at hand. The concept kind of faded as I went through my productive years, raising a family and having a career. Now that I’ve retired it has roared back to life. I’ve already told most of my stories and I know my days are numbered (whatever that number is). There are spiritual benefits to slowing down. The roses smell as sweet as they ever did.

April 5, 2026 I looked it up — Easter fell on my birthday when I was 4 and when I was 66 and today when I am 77. Frankly, I don’t remember either of those two other days, but today I feel honored and blessed. All I’ve managed to do is survive 77 years. All He did is rise from the dead. Hallelujah!
