#1232 HOW GOD SPOKE TO ME TODAY
August 13, 2024
“Farther along we’ll know all about it
Farther along we’ll understand why
Cheer up, my brother, live in the sunshine
We’ll understand it all bye and bye.”
Could be a senior anthem…

Golf Tuesday…no bull like an old bull…
#1233 HOW GOD SPOKE TO ME TODAY
October 11, 2024 Rejection. Some of the old men complain about playing the same old format every day, so I was put in charge of the occasional Game Day. Today half of the mend didn’t want to play the new game that I proposed–so we didn’t. I will survive my bruised ego. I will also retain my view that old men can be as intractable as Hereford bulls. Grace and peace and mercy, Lord Jesus.

#1234 HOW GOD SPOKE TO ME TODAY
August 29, 2024 This from my quiet time: “The most beautiful, fascinating creature in all the world is another person–the face, smile, eyes, vibration, walk, voice. In a single face, in a few round inches there is incredible variety. Each face is another window of the world, transparent or opaque, in light or darkness. Every face is a new world.” –Fr. Edward Farrell
My sister is having a party Saturday evening. Dear Lord, let me see each face with the same interest and respect and love that You have.

Today (November 1) is me and Jesus’s three year anniversary of publishing HGSTMT…this seemed an appropriate post:
#1236 HOW GOD SPOKE TO ME TODAY
August 20, 2024 I just realized this could be my last post. Don’t mean to be morbid, but I don’t know my time of departure, and it could be any time from here on out. It took me almost three years to document 1000 posts. How many left? Another thou? or two? or three? My part is to keep listening and writing. It sure has been a pleasure to describe an abundant life.

Family Sunday, where the neighborhood is a family…
#1237 HOW GOD SPOKE TO ME TODAY
October 31, 2024 Halloween revisited. I live in the best neighborhood for trick or treating. We have several houses that go all out on lawn decorations. Ours is a diverse community, so there’s a great variance in the faces looking up at me wanting candy. The best part is the numbers–it’s like a parade from 5:30 to 8. I laughed at how much candy Karen bought, and we gave away every piece. Thanks, Lord, for Halloween.
