#1141 HOW GOD SPOKE TO ME TODAY
December 12, 2023 Evangelism — (n.) — the spreading of the Christian gospel by public preaching or personal witness. I do not believe the telling of the gospel can be effective in this day and age unless it is combined with the demonstration of the gospel, i.e., Christ-like-ness.

Bogey Golf Tuesday…
#1142 HOW GOD SPOKE TO ME TODAY
July 2, 2024 Once more with feeling–golf is a spiritual exercise! Today’s example: playing badly. Every golfer I know has good and bad days. That is the nature of the game. The spiritual challenge is to respond to the bad days with forbearance (n. — patient self-control; restraint and tolerance). No pity, no pouting, no excuses. It’s easy to be joyful when I am in the groove. Teach me to play badly well, Lord Jesus.

#1143 HOW GOD SPOKE TO ME TODAY
February 2, 2024 Instruction on the Holy Spirit: “The Spirit is elusive, unobtrusive, as imperceptible as time and season, growth and age. Yet man has a deep sense of Spirit from the breath of his life, the pulse of his heart, the stirring of his conscience, the restlessness of his soul.” –Edward J. Farrell
O Lord, heighten my sense of the Spirit and give me the wisdom to follow where I am led.

June 4, 2024 A new mentor, Edward J. Farrell, a catholic priest in Detroit: “When we begin to follow Jesus, we allow Him to live more consciously in our lives. In surprising and simple ways, He is always speaking to us. He is at the heart of the world and the heart of each of us, especially at the fragile center where we are afraid–of ourselves, of others, of God.”

#1146 HOW GOD SPOKE TO ME TODAY
June 11, 2024 Just realized the true purpose of my writing project. I am documenting my walk home to Jesus. I have no doubt of my destination, I am curious as to what lies ahead, and I’m enjoying taking it day by day. Lead on, Lord Jesus.

Family Sunday, here and now…
#1147 HOW GOD SPOKE TO ME TODAY
August 4, 2024 As a grandparent, I stand on the periphery at a family reunion. It is a good place to be. There is so much activity, so much interaction, so many needs to be met, so much noise–I can dip in and out as I please. As I observe the parental duties, I’m thrilled at how well they fulfill their roles, proud that I once must have done the same, and relieved that I no longer have to–I don’t have that kind of energy! Thanks be to God for His wisdom in the construction of family.
